Jemele Hill Fires Back At Enes Kanter Freedom Over WNBA Draft Stunt
Hill didn’t hold back.
Jemele Hill did not hold back after Enes Kanter Freedom’s latest move. The former NBA big man posted a satirical video saying he would declare for the 2027 WNBA draft. Hill quickly labeled the entire stunt “dumb.”
Freedom framed the announcement as a protest against the league’s gender policies. He claimed current guidelines around self-identification would allow him to try out. Hill rejected that framing completely and questioned the real motive.
She argued the right keeps inventing extreme scenarios that have never happened. The goal, in her view, is to create unnecessary hysteria around an issue already settled by policy.

Jemele Hill said the point itself falls apart under basic scrutiny.
“If you have to constantly invent hypothetical, implausible scenarios to try to make a point, maybe the point you’re making is just f—ing dumb,” she wrote.
She noted that no transgender woman has played in the WNBA in its 30-year history. Existing policies already restrict participation at virtually every level, she argued.
Hill went further and claimed some critics will never be satisfied.
“They want to erase trans existence period and no amount of exclusion, degradation, or denigration will ever be good enough for them,” she said.
She also pointed out the inconsistency.
“If you’ve told the public the greatest threat to women’s sports is trans women and you have completely ignored what IS actually the threat then that means you don’t give a s–t about women’s sports, you only care about dehumanizing trans people.”
Jemele Hill Shuts Down Royce White as Well

Jemele Hill turned her attention to Royce White after he joined the pile-on. White declared his own dislike for her and called her a bigot. Hill responded with a simple dismissal.
“Girl, if you don’t go on somewhere,” she wrote.
She later compared both Freedom and White’s draft declarations to a famous scene from The Office.
“Royce White and Enes Kanter declaring for the WNBA draft reminds me of that episode of The Office where Michael Scott shouted I declare bankruptcy in the middle of the office because he thought that’s what the phrase meant.”
The comparison underscored her view that the announcements were performative rather than serious.
