Kelsey Plum joined the LA Sparks in the 2025 season, impressed by the young talent and potential the side had. With her experience and abilities, the star was convinced that she would turn the fortunes around for the former championship side. But what she saw during training sessions with the team shocked her and will possibly remain in her memory forever.

On the ‘Bird’s Eye’ Podcast, the 30-year-old star talked on multiple topics ranging from her college days to her current Sparks side. She also addressed the viral Caitlin Clark jibe she took during the All-Star game. Revisiting her journey, she spoke about Rickea Jackson’s incredible talent, which she claimed she never saw from a female player.

Kelsey Plum Stunned By Rickea Jackson’s Athletic Abilities

The former Washington Huskies star played with and against many top players in the league. She won two WNBA titles alongside A’ja Wilson, an unstoppable force in the league. Yet when she saw Rickea Jackson’s talent, she was stunned.

Sue Bird brought up the topic, mentioning that the 24-year-old forward has incredible talent and no ceiling to her abilities. Cutting her short, Kelsey Plum narrated a story from the practice session that surprised her.

The other day at practice, playing against guys, we’re on D, and this guy likes backdoor cuts. She was coming from the weak side, and someone passed it to him, he goes up to dunk it… and she blocked him at the rim. I have never seen that before with a female… unbelievable talent!” Plum said on the Podcast.

The former Tennessee star had been a very productive player for the Sparks alongside Plum. Her clutch plays, including a buzzer-beater against the New York Liberty, handed the team vital wins in its quest for the playoffs.

Earning a starter role under Lynne Roberts, the youngster is currently having a career-best season with 14.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and two assists. Previously, Jackson also praised the veteran guard, Plum, for her ‘High IQ,’ which leads the side in multiple stats and is the primary ball handler on the court.

Kelsey Plum Talks about Her Departure From The Las Vegas Aces

The veteran star touched on many topics, including her decision to leave the Las Vegas team. She demanded a trade from the former champions despite being a core player in the side. Her decision at the time shocked many, as the three-team trade changed the landscape of the league. In the Bird’s Eye Podcast, she revealed the real reasons behind her step.

“You have the basketball element. It’s not about shots or points. It’s just more of a feeling… Yeah, I can set cross screens and back screens for A’ja all day, no problem. But then you feel, ‘Am I becoming the fourth option?’ We’re not winning, so that also feels frustrating. There are egos involved,” The four-time All-Star said on the Podcast.

While her choice was to be a leader of the side, the decision to join the Sparks is certainly proving fruitful for her.

Brittney Griner Finally Breaks Her Silence Over Alleged Caitlin Clark Comments That The WNBA Refused To Investigate

WNBA star Brittney Griner was at the center of a new debate over what she allegedly said in a game against basketball phenom Caitlin Clark.

The Atlanta Dream center found herself at the center of social media controversy last month when some fans thought she disparaged Indiana Fever star guard Caitlin Clark upon fouling out.

The game’s broadcast focused on an upset Griner saying something as she returned to the Dream bench after fouling out of the game. While there’s no audio of this moment, some who tried to read Griner’s lips thought she called Clark a “trash f–king white girl.”

However, there’s no proof of Griner saying those actual words since others thought she stated something else.

It took weeks for someone to finally get a quote from her, and she provided much of nothing.

Brittney Griner was asked about this moment before her team’s June 15 game against the Washington Mystics and said, “I remember fouling out, being mad. I remember fouling out on, I believe it was [Natasha] Howard driving to the basket. They said I put my hand in.”

Moments before the conclusion of the Indiana Fever’s 81-76 victory over the Dream at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta weeks ago, cameras seemingly caught Atlanta Dream star center Brittney Griner labeling Caitlin Clark “trash” before calling her a “f***ing white girl” in frustration over a foul on Natasha Howard.

The clip of Griner speaking on the bench, lacking context, spread on social media and went viral.

Griner, who won a gold medal for Team USA at the Summer Olympics in Paris in 2024, essentially got aw@y with whatever came out of her mouth because the league basically ignored the controversy.

This incident is not the only time Griner vocalized her frustrations this season. Following another game, she stormed off mid-interview, yelling at the referees to “be f—ing better.
