Lexie Hull on her wedding and the possible Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham involvement@lexiehulll instagram
Having finished her third season with the Indiana Fever and the WNBA averaging 7.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game, Lexie Hull is taking advantage of the offseason to rest and focus on other aspects of her life, such as her wedding.
Hull and her fiancé, Will Matthiessen, have been together for five years and announced their engagement on April 20 on Instagram. Now, the 26-year-old point guard has shared intimate details of how she plans to celebrate her big day.
Lexie opens up about her wedding preparations
With eight photos on the beach showing Hull excited to see Will down on one knee proposing, the couple shared the good news with their Instagram followers weeks before their fifth anniversary.
She received comments from her teammate Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, with whom she shared a locker room at Unrivaled’s Rosé BC. “Engaged to my best friend, cheers to forever!” Lexie wrote.

Now, while attending the Glamour Women of the Year event at The Plaza Hotel, she spoke with People and revealed that although their wedding plans are “going really well,” their busy schedules have not given them a break:
“Honestly, we haven’t had too much time to dive into the details yet, but it’s been fun so far,” Hull said. “That’s probably the hardest part, trying to plan while we’re both so busy.”
She was also asked about her guest list, specifically about the presence of her Indiana Fever teammates, including the “Tres Leches” trio she forms with Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham:
“They’ll definitely be at the wedding, but we’ll see about the bridal party lineup,” she teases.

The truth is that this year, with the arrival of Cunningham from the Phoenix Mercury, the trio has been the talk of the town due to the good atmosphere that seemed to surround the Indiana Fever. However, injuries hit Stephanie White’s team hard: Caitlin, for example, suffered injuries to her quadriceps, ankle, and groin, and Sophie tore the MCL in her right knee, requiring surgery in August.
Meanwhile, regarding the bond she shares with her teammates, Hull noted that Clark is “one of my best friends on the team” and that their friendship transcends the court:
“I’m really grateful for Caitlin,” she says, adding, “And it’s been amazing growing together and chasing the same goals… We push each other in practice but also have so much fun, it’s a good balance of competitiveness and friendship.”
Hull did not reveal the date or who will be part of her bridal party: will Sophie and Caitlin be there? Only time will tell.
