Mark Sanchez’s legal saga pushes into the next year. The former QB, who’s already juggling recovery from near-fatal st:bab wounds, is now staring at a delayed courtroom showdown.
And here’s where things tighten up. On November 28, it was reported that court records show Sanchez’s criminal trial has been officially pushed from December to March 12, 2026. The judge made the call to give his defense extra breathing room, especially with a civil case running alongside the criminal one.
The alleged st.abbing victim filed that civil suit. It also ropes in Sanchez’s former employer, Fox. Sanchez was fired from Fox after the incident, and his family has since spoken out about the abrupt termination.
The case stems from a parking dispute in downtown Indianapolis in October 2025, where Sanchez allegedly confronted a 69-year-old truck driver. Police allege that Sanchez, appearing intoxicated, attempted to enter the man’s vehicle and shoved him.
The driver responded with pepper spray, then st.abbed Sanchez in self-defense. Sanchez’s initial misdemeanors were upgraded to a Level 5 felony.
With both trials now looming, Sanchez enters 2026 with the highest stakes of his post-NFL career.
