Week 17 sparks serious questions about several coaching futures.
Week 17 wrapped up another busy NFL weekend and set up a tense situation for several head coaches. The Atlanta Falcons will face the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football to close the week. After that game, only one regular season week will be left.
The league has already seen two coaches lose their jobs. Tennessee fired Brian Callahan, and New York let go of Brian Daboll. Now, the focus has shifted to who could be next. Week 17 results put four more head coaches under serious pressure.
The standings explain some of it, but not all of it. Team chemistry, fan reaction, and owner patience matter just as much. Around the league, people are already talking. The coaching carousel is starting to move sooner than expected.
Four Coaches Face Heat After Week 17

Four NFL head coaches are clearly under pressure after Week 17. That group includes Jets coach Aaron Glenn, Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles, Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon, and Raiders coach Pete Carroll.
The Jets expected to take a step forward this season, but that never happened. With only one game left, Glenn now faces serious questions. Team leaders want answers quickly.
Tampa Bay finds itself in an awkward position again. Bowles enters every season with playoff expectations, but Week 17 did little to help his case. Late-season mistakes and missed opportunities continue to follow his teams.
Arizona hoped Gannon would bring stability, but the results have been inconsistent. NFL Week 17 raised more concerns. Fans want to see progress, and ownership wants wins.
Carroll draws the most attention. He owns a long track record and a Super Bowl title as a coach, yet pressure has still found him. After Sunday’s game, reporters even questioned whether ownership still fully supports him.
“Yeah, I do,” Carroll said. “From all the guys I’ve talked to, I do feel I have their support. What that means, I don’t know. But our conversations have been really good.”
Carroll avoided any promise about his future. He shut down talk about 2026.
“I have no comment to make about that at all,” Carroll said. “We’re getting along great, we’re communicating really well, we’ll see what happens.” He also gave his views on the Maxx Crosby scene.
NFL sources expect movement once Week 18 ends. Several teams could act fast. Some could wait until the playoffs finish. Either way, change feels close.
