President Donald Trump Reveals His Decision On Attending Super Bowl LX

Trump skips Super Bowl LX and takes aim at the halftime stars.

President Donald Trump will not attend Super Bowl LX. He confirmed the decision this week during an interview with the New York Post. Trump cited the long travel distance to Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara as the main reason for staying away.

Last year, Trump made history as the first sitting US president to attend a Super Bowl. Some people expected him to go again. He quickly turned it down, saying traveling across the country is not worth it this time.

“It’s just too far away. I would. I’ve [gotten] great hands [at] the Super Bowl. They like me,” Trump told the New York Post“I would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter.”

Trump also criticized the NFL’s entertainment choices. The league picked Green Day to perform at the opening and Bad Bunny for the halftime show. Both artists have spoken out against Trump in the past. Trump said he does not support either performer.

“I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible,” Trump said. He also said he does not plan to watch either performance.

Trump, Music Criticism, And Public Pushback

Green Day and Bad Bunny have never hidden their views on Trump. Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong has spoken out against Trump and his supporters for years. In recent remarks, Armstrong said, “I’m not a part of a redneck agenda. I’m not a part of the MAGA agenda.”

Bad Bunny has also used his platform to criticize Trump. The global music star addressed immigration in his 2025 song “Nuevayol.” He used an imitation of Trump’s voice in the track. The message focused on the importance of immigrants to the United States.

“I want to apologize to the immigrants in America,” Bad Bunny said in the song. “This country is nothing without the immigrants. This country is nothing without Mexicans, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Cubans.”

Trump has a long history of calling out artists and entertainers who criticize him. His comments about the Super Bowl performers fit that same pattern.

Super Bowl LX will go on without the president in the stands. The NFL has not replied to Trump’s comments. Green Day and Bad Bunny have also stayed silent.

Fans are still expected to pack Levi’s Stadium as football, music, and politics once again collide on the biggest stage.
