We’re not even three full months into 2025, but ESPN’s Laura Rutledge is already having an incredible year.
Two weeks ago, Rutledge received a multi-year contract extension from ESPN. She’s been with the company since 2014. After proving to be an excellent sideline reporter for college football, she was named the host of NFL Live. As you’d expect, she was more than happy to sign a new deal with the network.
“ESPN has provided me the support and freedom to build my dream career since I arrived eager to learn and grow,” Rutledge said in a statement. “I appreciate its continued faith in me and hope they recognize the gratitude and pride I have working for the company. On a personal level, so many colleagues have become mentors and dear friends during my 10 years and I have relationships with them that will always be special, including my NFL Live team who I consider family.”
Shortly after signing her extension with ESPN, Rutledge changed up her appearance.

Earlier this week, Rutledge showed off her new hairstyle on NFL Live. She trimmed the length of her hair by a noticeable amount. That being said, it’s a really great look for her.
Most of Rutledge’s social media followers have let her know that they love her new hairstyle.
“YES! Haircut,” one person commented.
Another person wrote, “The hair was a great decision. Looks amazing!”
“Love the new hair,” an Instagram user said. “The best in the business.”

e, and rightfully so.
“Laura is a consummate professional and wonderful teammate” ESPN’s president of content Burke Magnus said. “Her versatility allows us to utilize her in multiple roles, across numerous sports, throughout the year. We are fortunate to have her.”
Fans can see Rutledge in action on Monday when NFL Live airs on ESPN.
