Reality show fans often wonder what it would be like for some of their favorite shows to join forces. Recently, one of the pros from Dancing with the Stars talked about such an idea happening. This even inspired a response, complete with an offer, from Survivor presenter Jeff Probst. However, there’s one particular thing the pro would want in return.

Dancing With The Stars Recently Crowned Its Season 34 Winners

Dancing with the Stars recently returned for its 34th season, premiering on September 16, 2025. The season wrapped up on December 2, with Robert Irwin as the celebrity winner and Witney Carson as the professional winner.

With the season coming to an end, a lot of the dancers, both the stars and the pros, have opened up about their time on the show. Recently, one of the series’ pro dancers shared some interesting news.

Derek Hough first joined Dancing with the Stars as a pro dancer. He later became a judge on the show. However, on his Instagram Stories, he also recently made an offer to Survivor alum “Boston Rob” Mariano.

According to Hough, as shared by Entertainment Weekly, “I’ll do Survivor if Boston Rob does Dancing With the Stars.” His idea initially came out after he recently shared that he got into watching Survivor over the past couple of weeks.

Hough shared that he discussed a possible Survivor appearance after Boston Rob appeared on Dancing with the Stars to support his friend, Dylan Efron. According to Hough, “Boston Rob actually asked me the other day when I saw him — he said, ‘Hey, would you ever do it?’”

Days later, this got a response from Survivor host Jeff Probst. On his own Instagram Story video, Probst shared, “I gotta say, I love that you just put this idea out into the ether, because I think you’re gonna be surprised how many of your fans are gonna want to see you compete on Survivor.”

Derek Hough Has Also Replied That He Was ‘Geeking Out’ Over Jeff Probst’s Offer

“And now that you’ve issued a dare to Rob, this could get interesting. Cause you know as well as I do that Boston Rob is the kinda guy who will take that dare and end up winning Dancing With the Stars.”

Probst even mused that things could get even more challenging should Mariano win. As he continued, “Then the pressure’s really on you, because not only are you out on Survivor with us next year. You gotta win.”

Hough later reacted to this during another Instagram Story, writing, “Me and my big mouth,” joking as if he accidentally signed himself up for the show. Taking it in good humor, he also wrote, “Also geeking out over this message.”

At this time, Hough hasn’t confirmed if he will follow up on the offer. While it’s all likely just in jest, it’s also possible that Hough might end up on Survivor one day and Boston Rob could be putting on his dancing shoes. In the end, viewers will just need to keep tuned in to see what happens next.
