Mike McDaniel wasted no time finding a new gig.
There was never a doubt that Mike McDaniel would find a job after his ousting from Miami.
The NFL just never seems to slow down. After being fired from the Miami Dolphins following another bad year, McDaniel jumped on a horse carousel at Magic Kingdom. He had no problems as far as he was concerned.
A little over a week after he lost his job, McDaniel has found a new gig in the most unlikely place. The Los Angeles Chargers are hiring former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel as their new offensive coordinator.
According to Adam Schefter, Los Angeles will hire McDaniel, barring a “change of heart” by the former Miami head coach. Tom Pelissero adds that no deal has been signed, and a head coaching spot could still materialize.
During his four years in Miami, McDaniel led the team to a 35-33 record, including two playoff appearances.

ESPN added that the Chargers want to hire McDaniel, and team management is scheduled to have dinner with him. McDaniel has reportedly informed other teams, including the Cleveland Browns, that he’s not interested in their vacancies.
If hired, McDaniel will be tasked with improving an offense that struggled in the last two postseasons. The regular season seems fine, but when the calendar changes, the offense changes as well.
Los Angeles could only manage three points against the Patriots in the Wild Card round. Justin Herbert has a career playoff record of 0 wins and 3 losses.
Mike McDaniel might be the offensive coordinator who can change everything for him.
