FUBAR‘s future is… well, it’s f–ked up beyond all recognition.

Netflix has cancelled the Arnold Schwarzenegger action comedy after a two-season run, Deadline reports. Season 2 of the series debuted on the streamer in June.

Schwarzenegger starred as Luke Brunner, a veteran CIA operative who didn’t realize that his daughter Emma (Monica Barbaro) was also a government spy. (She didn’t know he was one, either.) The supporting cast included Milan Carter, Fortune Feimster, Travis Van Winkle, Fabiana Udenio and Jay Baruchel. Carrie-Anne Moss, of The Matrix fame, joined the cast in Season 2 as Greta, a former East German spy who had a romantic history with Schwarzenegger’s character.

FUBAR Cancelled Netflix Arnold Schwarzenegger

FUBAR debuted in May 2023 with an eight-episode freshman season, topping the streaming charts and earning a quick Season 2 renewal. It took two full years for Season 2 to arrive on Netflix, though, and even Barbaro’s ascending fame (thanks to an Oscar-nominated turn in A Complete Unknown) wasn’t enough to save it. The cancellation caps FUBAR’s run at a total of 16 episodes.

Sarah Jessica Parker, who reprises her role as Carrie Bradshaw on HBO Max‘s Sex and the City sequel series, paid tribute to her longtime character in an Instagram post on Friday, following the surprising news that And Just Like That will end with the current third season.

“Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years,” Parker wrote. “I think I have loved her most of all. I know others have loved her just as I have. Been frustrated, condemned and rooted for her. The symphony of all those emotions has been the greatest soundtrack and most consequential companion. Therefore the most sentimental and profound gratitude and lifetime of debt. To you all.”

She added that she and showrunner Michael Patrick King “together recognized, as we have in the past, this chapter complete.” And Just Like That was “all joy, adventure, the greatest kind of hard work alongside the most extraordinary talent of 380 that includes all the brilliant actors who joined us,” she concluded. “I hope you love these final two episodes as much as we all do.”

Kristin Davis, who co-stars on AJLT in her Sex and the City role as Carrie’s friend Charlotte, offered her own thoughts on Instagram: “I am profoundly sad. I love our whole beautiful cast and crew. 400 artisans working so hard on our show with deep love. And to our loyal fans, we love you forever and ever.”

Cynthia Nixon, who co-stars as Miranda, weighed in, too, on Instagram: “I can’t believe our wild beautiful And Just Like That ride is almost over. It has been such a delight from start to finish. I will miss working with these people everyday SO incredibly much but know we will always be a part of each other’s lives… And don’t miss these last few episodes: surprises in store!”

King announced earlier on Friday that And Just Like That is ending, with the series finale set for Aug. 14: “And just like that… the ongoing storytelling of the Sex and the City universe is coming to an end. While I was writing the last episode of And Just Like That… Season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop. Along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to end the popular series this year with a two-part finale and extended the original series order from 10 episodes to 12.”

He explained that “SJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn’t want the word ‘final’ to overshadow the fun of watching the season. It’s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.”
