The Los Angeles Clippers cannot simply stay out of the news this season. From Kawhi Leonard’s shady business dealings to owner Steve Ballmer’s ultimatum to Tyronn Lue due to the team’s struggles, they have been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

When beloved Clipper Chris Paul was unceremoniously let go, it seemed like the team reached its boiling point. That’s why, to no one’s surprise, when the Clippers played against the Hawks, ATL’s Fanduel 404 Crew loudly chanted ‘Where’s Chris Paul’ high up the stands.

That’s some hostility. Even though Paul is somewhat a polarizing figure in basketball, many do admire his game throughout his 21-year-career in the league.

However, the mocking apparently did not work because the Hawks were blown out by the Clippers, 115-92. James Harden led LA with 27 points. Kawhi Leonard chipped in with 21. The Hawks, who are still without Trae Young, were paced by Nickeil Walker-Alexander’s 21 points.

It was just not Atlanta Hawks fans who were angry with Paul’s dismissal, though. Many basketball fans all across the globe blasted the Clippers for seemingly making CP3 the scapegoat for their struggles this season.

Paul indicated a few weeks back that the 2025-2026 season would be his last in the league. After signing a one-year deal, it’s only fitting that Chris Paul is back with the team. He arguably spent his best years there, especially during his prime years.

When the surprising news broke out about his departure, many were quick to call out the incompetence of the Clippers. Some lamented that he should have been given a proper sendoff. As for the Clippers, they have been embroiled in numerous controversies even before the season started.
