Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen confirmed that Hunter has suffered a concerning injury.
The famed Colorado Buffaloes defensive back and wide receiver was taken No. 2 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, and is expected to play both positions in the NFL. With so much work comes a lot of risk.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared the news, stating that Hunter “may” be held out of the second game.
A preseason game is not key to the Jags’ success, so it would be a great idea to hold Travis Hunter out to ensure that he is healthy for the regular season.
Hunter played both positions in the first preseason game, logging two catches on two targets for nine yards during his 11 offensive snaps.
On Defense, he took eight snaps as a cornerback and was not targeted, according to PFF.
Coen said that the team has not determined how many starters will play this weekend, but the precautionary approach means Hunter’s playing time will likely be limited if he does play.
