WNBA star Angel Reese was at the Chase Center on Thursday night to watch Maryland and Florida square off in the NCAA Tournament.
Reese showed up to this Sweet 16 game to support for her younger brother Julian, a senior forward for the Terrapins. He had 12 points and eight rebounds in Maryland’s loss to Florida.
With Maryland trailing by 16 points to Florida in the second half, TNT’s camera crew showed Reese upset in the stands. She received a sarcastic shoutout from longtime broadcaster Kevin Harlan.
“This time last year, she [Reese] and some player from Iowa [Caitlin Clark] – I can’t recall her name – were really good and captured the imagination of the basketball world,” Harlan said.

Most fans enjoyed Harlan’s joke during the broadcast. What they didn’t appreciate, however, was a social media post from CBS Sports. It showed Reese in the stands along with this caption: “Angel Reese does not appear pleased.”
“This is news? Why would she be happy about her brother’s team losing? Revoke the privileges please,” one person replied.
“I’m sure if you pan to the faces of any other Maryland fan in the crowd they would look the same,” a second fan commented. “Groundbreaking journalism, CBS sports.
“If she was smiling w her brother’s team losing in his final collegiate game y’all would say she’s weird,” another person said. “Leave her alone of course she’s not happy his team is out.”
“Thank you for stating the obvious, groundbreaking journalism,” a fourth person wrote.

WNBA fans won’t tolerate any unwarranted criticism, that’s for sure.
Reese has not responded to this post from CBS Sports. Besides, she doesn’t have to explain herself to anyone.
It doesn’t take a genius to realize Reese was upset about her brother’s team falling short in the Sweet 16. There’s nothing else to it.
Indiana Fever preseason schedule: How to watch Caitlin Clark and company prepare for 2025 WNBA season

The Indiana Fever made a franchise-altering decision last season when they selected Iowa guard Caitlin Clark with the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft. The budding star turned the team around, helping them to the playoffs for the first time in nearly 10 years.
As a result of their success, several high-end free agents wanted to team up with Clark and her teammates. Now, equipped with a complete starting lineup and a solid amount of depth, the Fever are one of the frontrunners for the WNBA Finals.
But before their season officially begins on May 17, they’ll have a trio of preseason contests to play. While two of them are run-of-the-mill exhibition games, one of them is another testament to just how impactful Clark has been during her one year in the league.
