The remaining celebrities on Season 34 of DWTS danced their hearts out last week for Dedication Night. In a surprising reprieve, no one was sent home on the emotional night. Unfortunately, the contestants weren’t so lucky this week. Fans are ‘heartbroken’ after the shocking elimination.
First 10s Of The Season Given Out
The second part of the Wicked movie franchise comes out soon. Wicked: For Good hits theaters on November 21, 2025. DWTS had a Wicked-themed night on October 21 ahead of the movie premiere. The remaining celebrities and their pro partners brought their A-game after last week’s emotional routines.

The competition for the top spot in the leaderboard has been tight all season. But getting the first 10s of the season is a huge milestone, too. Two contestants received 10s for their performances on Wicked Night.
Whitney Leavitt and her pro partner Mark Ballas received tens from three of the four judges for their dance to “Popular” from the movie’s soundtrack. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star getting that song was a bit controversial for some fans.
Olympic medalist Jordan Chiles and her partner, Ezra Sosa, also received three tens. Fan favorite contestant Robert Irwin received all nines for his performance.
DWTS Fans ‘Heartbroken’ Over Shocking Elimination
The judges on DWTS can be harsh, though some viewers think they’re too easy on certain contestants. Since no one went home last week, the scores from last week were combined with this week to calculate the bottom three. Fans were expecting a double elimination, but only one couple went home.
Pentatonix singer Scott Hoying and his partner, Rylee Arnold, were the unlucky couple to go home. Fans were left ‘heartbroken,’ especially because Scott had an overall higher score than comedian Andy Richter. A previously eliminated contestant called out fans for scheming to send home people they don’t like. Did that happen here?
“This elimination is homophobic! He didn’t deserve to go home! Andy Richter should have been eliminated,” one viewer wrote on social media.
Another fan added, “Andy has to go next. I don’t care if he’s a “teddy bear” or has a “wholesome” partnership with Emma, he should have left a long time ago.”
A third DWTS viewer blamed Rylee Arnold for her partner’s elimination. “I love Rylee, but I just feel like her choro was lacking,” they wrote on social media.
The judges and voters have to make tough decisions as the competition heats up. After all, only one person can take home the Mirrorball Trophy.
In a surprising move, former DWTS pro Cheryl Burke returns to the Los Angeles, California, ballroom next week as a guest judge. Do you think Scott was the right person to go home this week, or did he deserve to stay for at least one more week? Let us know what you think in the comments.
