ABC is giving fans one more reason to keep the ballroom lights glowing this season. After crowning the “Dancing With the Stars” season 34 champion last night, the franchise will debut its first-ever holiday special, “Dancing With the Holidays.” As the “DWTS” ballroom gets turned into a full-on winter celebration, find out everything we know about the special event below in our “Dancing With the Stars” spoilers.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Holiday Special

For this new holiday special, “Dancing With the Holidays,” ABC announced it would air one week after the DWTS season 34 finale last night.

The special will be a one-hour broadcast that will transform the ballroom into a holiday wonderland. “Dancing With the Holidays” will feature festive-themed routines, dazzling musical performances, and special holiday greetings.

With “DWTS” season 34 just wrapping up and the DWTS Tour coming in 2026, I am sure we will see a lot of familiar season 34 faces in the ballroom for this holiday special.

When & Where to Watch ‘Dancing With the Holidays’

For those “Dancing With the Stars” fans wanting to tune into this new holiday special, you won’t have to change many things up from your regular “DWTS” viewing schedule.

The holiday special will air on Tuesday, December 2, at 8 p.m. ET. The show will air on ABC and Disney+, with streaming of the special available the next day on Hulu.

Why ABC Is Expanding the DWTS Universe

This is the first-ever holiday special for the “Dancing With the Stars” franchise. It’s kind of wild that it hasn’t had one yet, especially since this is the 20th year of the show and the fall season always ends right around the beginning of December.

However, this has been a record-breaking year for the show. Every week, Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough comment on how they have beaten voting records.

For the DWTS Finale last night, the cohosts said they received 72 million votes for the five finalists. This doubled the votes cast for the season 33 finale.

We have also seen record numbers of viewers. For the semifinal episode, the show earned over 7 million viewers, ABC announced. This was the most-watched penultimate episode in seven years.

The show also had its best rating for Adults 18-34 in 10 years. It was also the #1 most social program on television across both broadcast and cable. They had 3.3 million total social interactions for that semifinal episode. It was also the #1 trending topic on X throughout the evening.

People are talking about it, watching it, and interacting with it, so ABC is riding that wave and giving people what they are hoping they want: even more “Dancing With the Stars”!
