TWO Dancing With the Stars pros are ‘on the chopping block’ if they don’t ‘step it up’ more this season, an insider has exclusively told The U.S. Sun.

As season 34 reaches record highs in ratings and viewer votes, producers will be “stricter than ever” with who they decide makes the cut for a prestigious spot as a pro next year.

While this year’s competition is still early on in the season, producers have apparently been keeping a close eye on how everyone on the ballroom floor is performing to determine who will earn a spot next year.

According to a production insider, as far as the pros go, there are “a couple” who execs feel “aren’t quite keeping up with the rest of the ensemble.”

“Next season’s cast won’t be determined until next year, so it’s way too early for final speculation on that.

“But producers have active discussions throughout the season to prepare for the next year,” the source explained.

Adding to who may be in particular need of a boost, they claimed: “There are talks that Rylee [Arnold] and Jan [Ravnik] would be most on the chopping block for next season if they don’t start stepping it up.

“With Rylee, there has been an emphasis that she needs to be a better teacher and make her partners learn the technique.

“Her and her partners, while beloved, have not improved drastically and make mistakes even deeper into the season.

“While Jan has been called out for lacking proper technique himself and not having clean lines when he should be the teacher and the master of technique.”

“He has also been told he can step it up with his choreography and challenge his partner more.

“It doesn’t mean they won’t be back next season. But they’re the two producers are keeping the closest eye on,” they added.

TWO TO TANGO

Rylee, 20, first joined DWTS as a pro in 2023 when she made her debut with reality star Harry Jowsey.

Harry, 28, suffered from heavy criticism all season and was even compared to being a “tree trunk” that Rylee “danced around” due to his lack of movement.

This is a modal window.

Despite the duo making it far into the season, the Too Hot to Handle star did not improve much technically as the weeks went on.

Some viewers suggested that Rylee would’ve benefited from being a part of the DWTS troupe rather than making the rare move of being cast directly as a pro.

For DWTS, many of the dancers are hired as part of an ensemble troupe, which they are members of for years before being promoted to a full-time pro.

While that’s the traditional path for the pros, Rylee, who is the younger sister of longtime DWTS dancer Lindsay Arnold, was able to bypass that step and was cast straight on the show.

Meanwhile, newcomer Jan, 30, made his debut this season on DWTS.

He was cast to be on the show fresh off his monumental success as a fan-favorite dancer on Taylor Swift‘s Eras tour.

DANCING WITH THE STARS SEASON 34 CAST

Dancing With the Stars is back with an all new season – and new celebrity faces to compete for the coveted Mirrorball Trophy. Check out the stars and professional dancers who will be gracing the dance floor with their moves for season 34.

The U.S. Sun was the first to report that Jan would be hired – at the time to fill in for the role of “fired” star Gleb Savchenko.

However, after some last-minute production shakeups, Gleb, 42, was also cast to be a part of this season.

His time on the ballroom floor was cut short, though, as he was shockingly eliminated in week four with partner Hilaria Baldwin.

Dancing With the Stars airs on Tuesdays at 8pm EST on ABC and is available to stream the following day on Hulu and Disney+.
