Lane Kiffin just can’t help himself. One week, he’s taking a loss to Georgia, and the next, he’s talking trash on live TV. Saturday night in Norman was supposed to be his team’s redemption game, but it turned into another classic Kiffin moment that is entertaining, funny, and a little controversial.
Ole Miss bounced back from that ugly Georgia loss with a win over No. 13 Oklahoma. It was exactly what the Rebels needed to stay alive in the playoff race. But then came the moment that hijacked the headlines. Cameras caught Kiffin confronting Oklahoma defensive lineman David Stone right after the game. “You’re a little quieter now than before,” Kiffin told him, clearly enjoying the win.
When a reporter asked him about the exchange, Kiffin came out clear. “This guy kept yelling at me during the game, saying we couldn’t score on them,” he said. “So yeah, I said something back.”
It was classic Lane Kiffin, always ready with a comeback. Fans quickly reacted online, flooding social media with opinions. Earlier this season, Kiffin was caught on camera reacting disrespectfully, which went viral.
Fans Split Over Kiffin’s Clapback

Kiffin’s postgame comments lit up social media faster than an Oklahoma play. Some fans loved the fire. Others thought he crossed a line.
“I would’ve paid some serious money to see that dude pancake Kiffin,” one user on X wrote.
Another said, “He’s trying to congratulate him even after a tough loss. Stone can lose like a man and Kiffin can’t even take the W like one.”
One fan went full referee mode: “This is disrespectful. A coach should not be able to do this. Ban Kiffin for the rest of the year.”
Of course, not everyone was serious. Others clapped back at Oklahoma. “Embarrassing,” one fan posted. “But not as embarrassing as the product Brent Venables put on the field.”
Despite all the drama, Ole Miss now has a real shot at the College Football Playoff. Their next games are against South Carolina, Florida, and Mississippi State, none of them ranked, plus an easy matchup with The Citadel. If they win out, they could go 11-1 for the first time in school history.
Kiffin isn’t talking much about that yet, which isn’t surprising. With rumors about his future already in question, fans can’t forget the last time he shocked everyone by giving his take on leaving Ole Miss.
For now, though, Kiffin’s team is winning, and so is the drama.
