Ashley ShahAhmadi made a big impression during NBC’s NBA season opener between the Warriors and Lakers. The attention wasn’t just on LeBron or Steph, it was on Ashley, who made her debut as NBC’s new courtside reporter Tuesday night at Crypto.com Arena.

NBC brought her in ahead of the 2025–26 season, and it already appears to be a great move. ShahAhmadi joined the broadcast crew alongside play-by-play voice Noah Eagle and NBA legend Grant Hill, forming what could easily become one of the most dynamic trios on television.

Fans might remember when Ashley went viral earlier this year for her stunning vacation photos. But this time, it is just her courtside mic and natural charm.

Social media lit up the moment NBC cut to ShahAhmadi during the first half and she posted those images on Instagram.

One fan wrote, “Here’s to a dreamer! You’ve earned every bit of this. You are the best NBA sideline reporter since 2002… and it’s not even close!”

Another posted about ShahAhmadi, “Loved the broadcast!! You all crushed it.”

A third kept it short, “So excited for you!”

The reaction said it all. And for many NBA viewers, it was their first real introduction to a reporter who’s been grinding for years behind the camera before her NBC call-up.

Before joining NBC, ShahAhmadi covered SEC football and NBA postseason games for ESPN. She joined the network in August 2023 and quickly became a familiar face on the sidelines. Even before that, she made her mark with Bally Sports South, covering the Charlotte Hornets and building a steady fan following.

Now, she’s bringing that same energy to NBC’s primetime stage. And judging by Tuesday night’s chatter, the network has found someone special.

This isn’t the first time Ashley ShahAhmadi has grabbed attention. Remember when everyone was talking about her during last year’s NBA playoffs? Well, she’s back again.

If her debut is any sign of what’s coming, ShahAhmadi’s courtside presence won’t just be a highlight this season, it might become appointment viewing.
