And right on cue, the Hutchinson family stepped in with the prettiest counter. The same family that’s become a Detroit fan-fave, from draft night to last month’s big contract and new (perfect) sidekick that followed in blockbuster trade, wasn’t about to let AI rewrite the storyline. Not with the playoffs approaching. Not with every camera already finding Melissa Hutchinson in the crowd.

On Nov. 26, Hutchinson’s mom, Melissa, shut down the viral fake, posting the AI wedding image to her Instagram Story with a series of laughing emojis.

“Love seeing who Aidan’s married to this week.”

The Pro Bowler signed a four-year, $180M contract, and is reportedly dating Alivia Callaghan. She keeps a low profile outside a few photos from Lions games. Melissa, though, is all about stealing attention. Be it her screen time during Detroit’s 38-30 win over Baltimore earlier this season, or fans openly requesting more ESPN camera cuts.

Hutchinson’s latest deal with Detroit’s put him near the top of the edge-rusher pay scale. But again, not in record-breaking territory. The $180M extension, reported by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler and Eric Woodyard, places the 25-year-old a close second to Micah Parsons ($46.5M) in the highest-paid edge rushers category, with his $45M annual salary.

Hutchinson, though, made it clear he wasn’t after setting a new benchmark.

“There’s a lot of factors that went into it, but ultimately, I know I wanted to be in Detroit and that was the goal,” he said, per ESPN. “Obviously, as a player, you have a responsibility when you’re in the echelon of players that I’m in to continue to push the market up, but was it at the expense of continuing to draw this process out and try to get an extra $1 [million] or $2 [million] or get above Micah or whatever it was.”

Aidan Hutchinson balanced his market value with his commitment to Detroit. He acknowledged that while pushing the market is part of his responsibility, staying with the Lions was his main goal.
