When it comes to her dating life, Sophie Cunningham has been extremely private. The Indiana Fever star might not choose to speak about her relationship, but she sure had some no-nonsense advice for a fan who wanted dating advice from her.
Cunningham introduced a new segment on her “Show Me Something” podcast, where the WNBA star would entertain questions from a few fans at the end of the show. In Friday’s episode, a fan called for dating advice.
The fan explained the unique situation, saying that he liked a colleague at his workplace. However, she only communicated through DMs on her dog’s Instagram account. According to the caller, the woman’s texts were borderline flirty, and conversations about her chasing squirrels and bones.

Even before the caller could finish the question, Sophie Cunningham was weirded out by the entire scenario. When the caller asked if he should ask the woman out, the Fever star had a no-nonsense answer.
“Block and run,” she said. [Starts at 30:25]
Cunningham even asked her co-host, West Wilson, not to make sense of the situation
“No. All of it. No. Wes, don’t even try to make sense of it. That’s weird as f***. I would stop,” she said. “You guys are not dogs. Don’t even go there. If you have to ask that, don’t go there.”
When Wilson suggested that the fan should ask her out for a normal date without the dog, Cunningham was having none of it.
“No, this is a huge red flag. Just stop. I would not even go there. Dude, you’re acting like you’re a dog.”
Sophie Cunningham gets honest about WNBA teammate having crush on her
During this season’s All-Star Weekend, a video of Natisha Hiedeman openly flirting with Angel Reese went viral. After Reese listed her demands from her partner, Hiedeman hilariously ended the conversation, saying she knew she couldn’t “afford” Reese.
Sophie Cunningham never had any player or any of her teammates crushing on her. During the podcast, while speaking about how to humbly reject a friend, West Wilson asked Cunningham if she had ever had a teammate who had a crush on her.
“No, because they are like you’re straight as f***,” Cunningham said. [Timestamp 35:39]
Cunningham is currently rehabbing her MCL injury and will enter the 2026 free agency in January next year. While the fans hope Cunningham returns to the Fever, she has said that she wanted a long-term contract because she wanted to buy a house.
