Malik Beasley has not signed with any team yet as he remains under the NBA’s review for a potential betting-related investigation. He is currently waiting for formal clearance from the league before he can resume his professional career.
The probe reportedly centers on allegations of improper gambling on NBA games, including prop bets during the 2023-24 season when Beasley was with the Milwaukee Bucks. Despite the uncertainty, his attorney remains optimistic about Beasley’s eventual return.
In a candid discussion with Pistons Talk, Beasley broke his silence regarding the ongoing investigation on Friday.
“The NBA is doing their own investigation now. The FBI has cleared. And, you know, as a league, they have to do that. And I respect that. Does it suck for me? Absolutely. I just want to hoop. But any day now. So just stick with it,” he said.
However, Beasley encouraged his supporters to remain patient. He also conveyed determination and readiness to return this year once cleared.
“Stay patient with me. Keep me lifted. I need that from y’all. Either way, I’m going to be playing this year. So I got to stay ready. So I got to get ready, baby,” Beasley added.

Beasley’s strong performance last season has kept him on the radar of multiple NBA teams. ESPN’s Shams Charania recently reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers are showing active interest in the free agent.
They’re hopeful that Darius Garland is back early in the regular season, but Max Strus is going to miss significant time. That’s why they’re monitoring and have interest in a free agent. That’s Malik Beasley,” Charania said.
Last season with the Detroit Pistons, Beasley averaged 16.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. He finished second in the Sixth Man of the Year voting and made over 300 three-pointers, ranking second in the league. Now, all eyes remain on the NBA’s investigation report, which will determine his next steps.
