The Kansas City Chiefs have seemingly fallen off a cliff in the early weeks of the 2025 season.

The team’s last three games have ended in losses, and the Philadelphia Eagles have been involved in two of them.

The Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles, 20-17, on Sunday, marking another tough loss that dropped them to 0-2 on the year. They did this despite having two Andy Reids on the sidelines. Starting 0-2 doesn’t always lead to a lost NFL season. Just last year, three different teams failed to win their first two games and still made it to the postseason.

This is fairly new territory for the Kansas City Chiefs and for Taylor Swift, as she watched this game from her suite. Their two losses have come against playoff teams from last season, first to the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil and then the defending Super Bowl champs at Arrowhead.

Following the loss to the Eagles, the Chiefs’ official X account posted five takeaways from the game, including how well the defense played.

“The Chiefs held Philadelphia to a 5-for-14 mark on third down and just 216 total yards of offense, marking the Eagles’ lowest offensive output since Week 6 of the 2021 season. Philadelphia punted on half of its offensive drives (5 of 10) while averaging only 3.7 yards-per-play,” the team said in a post.

The Chiefs’ defense held the Eagles to their lowest offensive output since Week 6 of the 2021 season. The Eagles recorded just 216 total yards and punted on half their drives.

Does that matter in the grand scheme of things? No. They still lost the game. It’s nice that the defense stepped up, but this team has been much more than boasting about participation trophies. Social media couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

“Okay, and then what happened?” one person asked.

“A pathetic tweet. You lost, ‘shake it off’ and move on,” a second person stated.

“That’s great and all, but my team still lost. Find the positives, but let’s not broadcast them like wins. This season is far from over, and I still believe in them, but they have work to do,” a third person added.

“That’s an odd post after a loss,” a final person commented.
