Over the years, many veteran cheerleaders have departed teams, and now theĀ Washington CommandersĀ are dealing with this.

NFLĀ cheerleaders come and go with a lot less fanfare than the players who put the pads on.

However, one cheerleader has built such a lasting impression on her team that her departure feels like a major blow to the team.

Last week, Washington Commanders cheerleader Jessie Casey announced that she’s leaving the team after five seasons on the Command Force.

Casey was most certainly loved throughout the organization.

She had been with the team since 2020 and was theirĀ Pro BowlĀ representative this past year.

ā€œIt’s hard to believe that after five amazing seasons, my journey as a Washington Commanders cheerleader has come to a close. This team has been so much more than just a place to dance. It’s been a home, a place of growth, and the most beautiful chapter of my life,ā€ she wrote on Instagram.

ā€œBeing part of this team has shaped me into the woman I am today. It pushed me, inspired me, and surrounded me with people who accepted and loved me exactly as I am. The word ā€˜family’ gets used a lot, but this team truly embodies what it means to be a chosen familyā€¦ā€

ā€œI’ve had the honor of dancing for thousands of fans, witnessing NFL history firsthand, experiencing countless photo shoots, dancing in the Pro Bowl, and traveling across the globe. But it’s the intangibles that will stick with me the most. The confidence instilled in me, the grit and determination I didn’t know I had, and the friendships that started as a joke during practice and ended as lifelong sisters standing by my side on my wedding day.

ā€œI will never be able to put into words how much this team means to me. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for the best five years of my life. I’ll cherish them always. Family on 3.ā€

On Friday, the Command Force gave a heartwarming send-off on social media as they posted some of her most viral pictures.

This offseason was a great time for Jessie Casey to head off into the sunset.

Casey announced that she was leaving the team after five seasons on the Command Force. It was a sad moment for everybody who won’t be able to see and talk to her every day like they used to.

At least, she decided to go out on top after experiencing the most exciting time to be a Commanders fan in a long time.

The Washington Commanders reached their first NFC Championship game since the 1991 season, marking a 33-year drought since their last appearance in the conference title game.

Casey was there for all of it. She experienced all of the ups and downs, which were mostly downs
