Before Robert lifted the trophy, Carrie Ann Inaba made a comment about him not deserving to win.
Fans clocked the moment in question and were quick to slam the controversial yet straight-talking judge.
“I’m sorry did Carrie Ann just insinuate that Robert did not deserve that trophy based on …… that dance……..?” said one person on X.
“Carrie Ann sucks! Why you be saying Robert doesn’t deserve the trophy?!” asked a second.
A third penned, “Carrie Ann please do not p*** me off today what do you mean ‘I don’t want to give it to someone who doesn’t deserve it’??? ur WASHED.”
“Carrie Ann indicating Robert doesn’t deserve the mirrorball? Officially the meanest thing I’ve heard on this show,” said a fourth.
While a fifth penned, “Carrie Ann totally out of line with that b-s ‘critique’ of Robert about the mirror ball not going to someone who doesn’t deserve it.
“She’s got some kind of axe to grind against him, it’s obvious.
“She didn’t talk to anyone else with such disrespect.”
All season, Robert and his pro partner Witney Carson were eyed as the pairing to beat after receiving numerous perfect scores and praise from the judges.
Producers also believed the Australian zookeeper, who is the son of the late Crocodile Hunter star, Steve Irwin, would take home the win and called him the “clear favorite” from the beginning.
His family appeared to feel the same, as they had already planned to display his trophy beside his sister Bindi’s, as exclusively reported by The U.S. Sun.
Bindi won Season 21 of the ballroom dancing competition with her partner, former DWTS pro-turned-judge, Derek Hough.
Though fans were thrilled by Robert’s win, some were less than impressed.
“So predictable from the beginning because of Robert’s fan base. Womp womp,” one person wrote on X.
“Yall hate the fact that Alix Earle has a large following sooo much that yall voted ROBERT as the winner ? lol The internet is hilarious. But go Off,” said another.
“You can’t convince me the season was not rigged for Robert to win. He has been the most sought after celeb to be on the show. His sister won the show already.
“He was also given one of the best pros who likely will either retire or go on another hiatus,” ripped a third.
“Can’t spell robert without ROBBED,” added a fourth.
