A new postgame video shows Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce visibly dejected after Sunday’s heartbreaking loss to the Houston Texans.

Facing a must-win situation against the Texans on ‘Sunday Night Football’, the Chiefs crumbled in stunning fashion. Patrick Mahomes’ third interception, a deep pass that bounced off Travis Kelce’s hands, ended the comeback bid in a 20-10 loss.

The defending AFC Champions are now 6-7 with four games to go. ESPN’s computer model gives them just a 16.4 percent chance of making the postseason, and even that feels incredibly generous.

Travis Kelce was visibly crushed on the sidelines. Was that hard for Chiefs fans to watch? He looked even more down as he exited Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday:

The Chiefs were undone by a pair of failed fourth-down attempts in their own territory in the fourth quarter. Head coach Andy Reid blamed himself after the game, though Rashee Rice’s brutal drop on the second fourth-down attempt didn’t help matters.

Kelce hasn’t committed to playing again in 2026, emphasizing that he will decide after the 2025 season. But with how bad things have gone in KC this year, the 36-year-old might not be keen on returning for another season.

Barring a strong finish to the season, Kelce will finish below 1,000 receiving yards for the third straight year. He’s not in his prime anymore. It simply comes down to if Kelce still wants to pursue a fourth Super Bowl, and if the physical and mental sacrifices are worth the pursuit.

For now, the Chiefs have to stay focused on Sunday’s home game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Win that game, and get a little help from other teams, and they’ll be alive in the playoff race.
