New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo broke his silence after undergoing season-ending ankle surgery with a heartwarming message for the city of Philadelphia.

Cam Skattebo suffered a dislocated ankle in the second quarter of the Giants’ Week 8 road game against the Philadelphia Eagles and had to be carted off. Skattebo accidentally got tangled up with linebacker Zack Baun and did not return, with the Giants later confirming that he’d require season-ending surgery.

Just after 5:00 p.m. EST on Monday, Skattebo announced on X/Twitter that his ankle surgery was a success and thanked the city of Philadelphia and the hospital staff who took care of him:

The Eagles and Giants have one of the most heated and emotional rivalries in football, but Nick Sirianni’s squad has been nothing but classy and helpful during a tough 24 hours for Skattebo.

Their chief security officer, Dom DiSandro (AKA “Big Dom”), visited Cam Skattebo at the hospital and delivered pizza and cheesesteaks to the rookie running back. While he was carted off, Skattebo also received a standing ovation from Eagles fans.

The Giants were dealt a significant blow in Week 3 when superstar running back Malik Nabers suffered a season-ending ACL tear against the Los Angeles Chargers. Now, they’re without their lead running back for the rest of the season.

Skattebo’s rookie season ends with 410 rushing yards, five rushing touchdowns, 24 receptions, 207 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions. With Skattebo out for the year, 2024 rookie standout Tyrone Tracy Jr. will get the chance to regain his RB1 job.

Not much has gone right for the 2-6 Giants, but the excellent production of rookies Cam Skattebo, Jaxson Dart and Abdul Carter have been bright spots. We’ll see if the Giants can somehow finish the season on a strong note despite another unfrotunate injury break.

Luka Doncic ‘destroys’ the Mavs on his return. Gets standing ovation and shows love to Mark Cuban

Luka Doncic hits 45 points in his first game in Dallas since being traded to the Los Angeles.

It’s rare for a home crowd to cheer the visiting team, but Luka Doncic’s return to Dallas was no ordinary night.

Just days before February’s trade deadline, the Mavericks shocked the NBA by sending their 26-year-old superstar to the Lakers—a move that outraged fans and sparked backlash toward GM Nico Harrison.

On Wednesday, Doncic played his first game back in Dallas since the trade. The arena was filled with fans in both his old Mavs and new Lakers jerseys, many chanting “Fire Nico” in protest.

Despite the emotion in the air, Doncic delivered a dominant performance, scoring a game-high 45 points to lead the Lakers to a 112-97 win. It was a powerful return for one of the league’s brightest stars—and a night Dallas won’t soon forget

The Mavericks pay tribute to Luka Dončić

While the Mavericks’ decision to trade Luka Doncic remains heavily criticized, they handled his return to Dallas with undeniable grace. The organization made sure his first game back as a Laker was met with respect and appreciation.

Every seat in the arena was draped with a T-shirt reading “Hvala za vse,” which translates from Slovenian to “thank you for everything.” It was a thoughtful nod to Doncic’s heritage and impact on the franchise.

Before tip-off, during the starting lineup announcements, the Mavericks played a tribute video showcasing some of Doncic’s most iconic moments in a Dallas jersey. The emotional gesture clearly resonated—moving Doncic to tears in front of the crowd that once called him their own.
