The end is near for Mark Sanchez.

Over the weekend, the world was deep in prayer after news reports came out that former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez was in critical condition following a sta::bbing incident in Indianapolis.

The mood quickly changed. It was later announced that his stbbing was a result of his criminal actions. The 38-year-old was arrested on allegations of battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication, all misdemeanors.

Following his stbbing and arrest, Fox Sports made a quick decision to replace him with former Notre Dame football quarterback Brady Quinn. Sanchez was supposed to call Sunday’s Indianapolis Colts game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Now, he won’t call a game this week either.

Fox Sports announced that Mark Schlereth will replace Mark Sanchez this week and will team up with Chris Myers to call the game between the Jags and Seahawks.

Mark Sanchez is being sued after the alleged victim, 69-year-old delivery driver Perry Tole, filed a lawsuit on Monday. He is suing Sanchez for assault/battery and FOX for negligent hiring, retention, and supervision, according to TMZ Sports.

Tole claims he suffered “severe permanent disfigurement, loss of function, other physical injuries, emotional distress, and other damages” in the incident, per the outlet.

When it came to Fox, Tole added that the company should’ve been aware of Sanchez having a “propensity for drinking and/or harmful conduct.” He is suing for compensatory and punitive damages.

Prosecutor Ryan Mears also revealed this week that his battery charge could be upgraded to a Level 3 felony, and he could get up to 16 years in prison.

In the meantime, Sanchez is facing the real possibility of losing his job because of this entire situation.
