Nikola Jokic does not want a new contract with the Denver Nuggets. At least not yet.

The Denver Nuggets underwent an overhaul similar to that of the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers did in the 2025 offseason.

Following a tough 2025 playoff run, the team traded Michael Porter Jr. to the Brooklyn Nets for sharpshooter Cam Johnson, signed former champion Bruce Brown, added Tim Hardaway Jr., and traded for Jonas Valanciunas.

With a revamped roster that aims to contend for another title, superstar Nikola Jokic is now facing a tough contract decision.

A new report from Bennett Durando of The Denver Post revealed Jokic’s plans for a contract extension.

On Tuesday, Bennett Durando of the Denver Post reported that the star big man told the Nuggets he will wait until next offseason to engage in contract talks.

There is no urgency since he is signed through the 2026-27 season with a player option for the 2027-28 campaign.

This is the best move for him since Jokic can earn approximately $80 million more by waiting until next offseason, even though he is eligible to sign a three-year, $212 million extension at this point.

This news came as no surprise to the Nuggets’ front office, as they fully expected Jokic to wait until next offseason.

By finishing second in this year’s Kia NBA MVP balloting behind only Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jokic became just the third player in the history of the NBA with a top-two finish in five or more consecutive seasons.

“I had surgery two years back on my shin. I have a rod in my leg… I cover the scar on one, and then the two players that I admire, Te’a Cooper and A’ja Wilson, also wear it, too. So it is swag. But I have used it to cover my scar,” said Angel Reese. She revealed that she had surgery on her leg and had a scar on it. She wears the leggings to hide that scar and at the same time as a swag fashion accessory.

After the Tigers failed to stand up against Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes the fans were left wondering if the LSU star Angel Reese would declare for the upcoming NBA draft. Reese has answered those questions with a beautiful photoshoot in collaboration with Vogue. Reese did a photo shoot with the brand and announced that she would be declaring for the WNBA draft.

Reese expressed her thoughts about the decision on her official X (formerly Twitter) account. “Making my announcement with VOGUE was ICONIC. In the new world that I am stepping into, just believe in me, trust in me, and give me time to learn and grow!” said Reese in the post. She thanked her supporters for their support and love and also asked them to trust her in her new journey.
