Fox & Friends Faces Growing Backlash As Viewers Say Something Has Gone Seriously Wrong With The Show

Fox & Friends viewers aired out their dissapointment over the hosting changes the morning program is currently undergoing.
The weekday edition of Fox & Friends is typically hosted by Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, Biran Kilemade, and Lawerence Jones – but lately the show has been seeing a new face thrown into the mix. Lately, viewers have noticed that Charlie Hurt has been making more frequent appearances on the program, which has been met with a wave of backlash from fans. Charlie typically serves as a co-host for the weekend edition of the morning program alongside Rachel Campos-Duffy, but has appeared to be included on the weekdays more regularly.
Taking to the latest Fox & Friends Instagram reel, many viewers issued their disappointment over the choice. One critic commented, “Good Morning, I watch daily but with the addition of Charlie Hurt to occasional weekdays make it difficult to watch. Sooo hard to listen to the ah, ah, um, um’s.” They continued, “Like listening to a singer who sings off key. You might like the song but still agony to hear. You can actually see the torture on the faces of the great co-hosts.” It comes as another Fox host dramatically skipped her own show due to an “incredibly frustrating” problem.
The criticism of the new Fox line-up continued, as another viewer wrote, “I feel same about Charlie – painful to watch for the speech issue and Rachel Campos with her holier than thou attitude and valuing herself as if we should be grateful for her presence – used to be a faithful and regular viewer for years….now I never watch – turnoff!!”

This comes as it was revealed that Lawrence Jones is currently off the air from Fox & Friends due to a medical absence, leaving more oppourtunities to Charlie to fill in. In August, the 33-year-old television personality announced that he had to undergo a second eye surgery following another detached retina.
He explained that the issue stems from an initial retinal tear that resulted from a childhood sports injury, which can lead to further detachments. He previously underwent surgery for a similar issue in January.
In an X post, Lawerence shared, “Hey family, You may have noticed my recent absence. I’ve been open about my eye surgery due to a retinal tear. However, I later discovered that this was caused by a childhood sports injury.
“Regrettably, I’ve sustained another retina detachment, which is common after the initial tear. Yesterday, I underwent surgery again with the best care team. I want to express my deepest gratitude to my colleagues, Fox management, and our audience for their unwavering support during this challenging time. I’m optimistic that I’ll be back soon! LJ.”
Lawerence has been with Fox News for a total of eight years, having first joined the network in 2018. After becoming known for his man on the street interviews, the journalist was later granted a seat on Fox & Friends in 2021. This promotion made him the youngest Black co-host on cable news at age 30, and has gone on to build a large fanbase in the years to follow.
Fox & Friends airs on Fox News from 6am to 9am EST every weekday, and from 6am to 10am EST on weekends.
