Then Kara took the mic and every fan watching felt her heart. “Well, I’m going to get emotional,” she said, voice cracking. “When you have a child that works as hard as he does and dreams as big as he dreams, that’s what you want for him. It’s really special.”

Her story goes beyond just being a proud mom. Years ago, Kara suffered a serious foot and ankle injury that ended her dream of running in the Boston Marathon. She described that time as her own “emotional marathon” in an Instagram post. But she didn’t give up, she worked hard to rebuild herself, just like her son is doing now in New York.

Jaxson even credits her for his achievements. “My mom’s into it,” he told GQ Sports. “She’s done a great job of letting me choose and find things that I like.”

Now, the Giants sit at 2-1 with Dart as their starter. The rookie’s confidence is growing, and his family’s popularity is too. Even Giants QB Jameis Winston’s reaction to Dart’s first NFL win against the Chargers showed how much the team believes in him.
