Former LSU receiver Kyren Lacy, who was found dead Saturday night in Houston, died in an apparent suicide in his car while being pursued by cops.
The 24-year-old crashed his vehicle while being pursued by cops. Police said when they went to remove him from the car, they found Lacy dead of an apparent suicide, per the sheriff’s report.
His d3ath comes roughly four months after he was arrested for his alleged involvement in a crash that killed a 78-year-old man in Louisiana.
Lacy was facing negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless operation of a vehicle charge, and a grand jury was set to begin hearing that case on Monday.
Now, Kyren Lacy’s attorney is speaking out and setting the record straight.
Matt Ory made it clear that he had inside information about things that the average person does not and revealed that Lacy was likely to be in no trouble when it came to his case.
If true, it makes what Kyren Lacy did to himself even more heartbreaking as he could’ve easily continued on whathis life and tried to realize his dream of playing in the NFL.
Even if that case went well, Lacy was likely going to be arrested on the day he ran from the cops, which would make him even less likely to be selected for the draft.

Former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy died of an apparent suicide after leading Houston-area police on a chase.
The 2025 NFL Draft prospect suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.
Lacy’s d3ath came two days before a grand jury in Louisiana was expected to begin hearing evidence on the accident that killed a former marine.
In the aftermath, Lacy’s father spoke out as he mourned the former Louisiana State University wide receiver’s d3ath.
“Young parents, start talking to your kids at a very early age and make sure they are confident and comfortable confiding in you,” Kenny Lacy wrote on Facebook.
“Don’t be cool with ‘I’m Alright, or I’m good’ when you know deep down something isn’t right.
