Before they went on a holiday hiatus, The View hosts discussed a conservative influencer encouraging women to have kids early and often. Several of the hosts took issue with the shocking advice for people to have children that they can’t afford to care for. Now, Sara Haines addressed the backlash following the discussion. Find out what’s going on.

The View Hosts Feud With Conservative Influencer

The View is currently airing reruns while its hosts enjoy a much-needed break after the Easter holiday. They’re missing out on some newsworthy headlines, but when they return, Alyssa Farah Griffin comes back with them. She’s been on maternity leave since welcoming her baby boy in February.

Clearly, The View hosts love kids and having them. However, they took issue with conservative influencer Isabel Brown’s speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference, where she encouraged young women to have as many kids as possible to help populate the country, even if they can’t afford multiple children.

The 28-year-old conservative commentator has one child with her husband. Her speech followed several high-ranking Republicans, including Vice President J.D. Vance, highlighting the decline in pregnancies in the U.S. in recent years.

The View hosts blasted Isabel Brown’s comments as “reckless.” Isabel Brown clapped back by calling the hosts “out of touch” and claiming they denied her request to come on the show and talk it out.

Sara Haines Addresses Controversial Comments About Having Kids

Haines addressed the feud on the show’s Behind the Table podcast. She elaborated more on her controversial comments on the topic. “My ultimate beef with this is that it wraps a woman’s worth up in her ovaries. Marriage, children, it’s a choice,” she said about why she disagreed with Isabel Brown.

Sara Haines, who is married with three kids, says she loves kids and being married. However, she doesn’t believe that having kids is something all women should be expected to do in life. The View host pointed out that popping out endless babies isn’t as easy as the conservative host and others have suggested.

“They make it sound like this easy choice. Get married, have kids. There are so many amazing women I know that aren’t meeting people,” she said. Sara Haines admitted that before she met her husband, she worried that she might not ever find her person.

“Conservative influencers have kind of misconstrued what you guys were saying on the show and what the point of it is,” The View executive producer and host of the podcast Brian Teta chimed in.

Sara Haines agreed with him, adding, “I definitely think she misconstrued — whether that was willful or ignorance, she’s missing my whole point.” Isabel Brown has yet to respond to claims that she “misconstrued” what the hosts were trying to say about her speech.
