Kyren Lacy’s agent has called the NFL out in a scathing statement following the wide receiver’s death.
Lacy, a former prospect, took his own life after crashing his vehicle while trying to evade police in Houston last Saturday. He was facing serious charges for his involvement in a hit-and-run accident that caused the death of a 78-year-old U.S. Marine veteran named Herman Hall in December.
The WR was supposed to have a court hearing this past Monday.
His agent, Rocky Arceneaux, has put the NFL on blast for revoking his Combine invitation after his arrest in January.
Lacy had declared for the draft two days after the accident, but he saw his shot at a professional career erased in the wake of the incident.
Arceneaux has released a statement via ESPN’s Adam Schefter in which he ripped the league for deeming Lacy guilty before such was proven in a court of law.
“To the NFL, shame on you for revoking Kyren’s Combine invitation without acknowledgement or consideration of the facts,” he wrote.
He added:
“I urge you to re-evaluate your processes and provide athletes with the necessary due process before alienating them from their peers and dreams they’ve worked so hard for.”

Rocky Arceneaux also criticized the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office for rushing to charge Kyren Lacy to appease the public.
“Shame on the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office for being more concerned about public perception – and pressure to charge someone – than actually investigating the facts,” he added.
Lacy was expected to be a first-round pick in the upcoming draft after leading LSU in touchdowns with nine last season.
According to his attorney, he declared for the draft because he did not believe he was at fault for the accident and “continued with his daily activities.”
We will never know how good he could have been as a pro.
