The Voice Season 28 Knockout Rounds continue on Monday night, and there are no Steals or Saves in this round. So when coaches Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire, Niall Horan and Snoop Dogg pick the winner of each sing-off, only that artist can move on to the Playoffs.
In the Knockouts, the coaches pick who goes up against whom, but then the artists select the song they sing, giving America a chance to know who they are.
NBC exclusively gave Parade a leak to the Knockout between Team Niall’s Aiden Ross, who performed “when the party is over” by Billie Eilish, and Liam Von Elbe, who chose “Over My Head (Cable Car)” by The Fray for his performance.
“Great job,” Reba complimented. “It was a very entertaining pairing. Liam, your vocal was great; your tone was wonderful. Aiden, your range was crazy. We have no Save, no Steal, so best of luck to both of you. Both were excellent.”
Then it was Michael’s turn to critique, and, as usual, he used humor to get his message across.
“That was captivating,” he said. “Usually, I write notes, but I didn’t. I lost my pen. Your performances were so good, I threw my pen at Niall. I threw it in anger and a little bit of jealousy. Congratulations, you’re just winners.”
Next, to weigh-in was Snoop, who said, “Brother Liam, you are growing and growing. You are sounding bigger and better and you’ve got more movement and showmanship. I think you did an amazing job. Aiden Ross, when you were singing, I was stuck like a dump truck. It put me in like a trance. But let me say this, the way you sing, the way you handled that record, you sound like you could actually win The Voice, and that’s with no cap, just real talk.”
Then it was time for Niall to weigh in, and, of course, it’s really only his opinion that matters.
“Aiden, it’s a masterclass what you just did there,” he said. “It’s very easy to have a voice like yours and just be, ‘Look at me,’ and you don’t. You just stand there at the mic stand and you sing the song, and you make great choices. Liam, I’m just so proud of you, the story you’ve had and the growth you’ve show week on week. It was an incredible song choice. It suits you down to the ground.”
If I had to guess from the comments, I would say that Aiden won the Knockout. But to find out for sure, tune in to The Voice on Monday night at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Streams next day on Peacock.
