Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton is starting to show off the progress of his recovery from tearing his Achilles tendon. Haliburton suffered a devastating injury in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals against the OKC Thunder. Now, he’s showing off that he can dunk the basketball, and his fiancée, Jade Jones, shared the post on her Instagram stories.

Haliburton isn’t expected to suit up this season for the Pacers. The team wants him to take his time in his recovery and be at 100% before returning to action. The All-Star guard has slowly improved and can do a running one-handed dunk.

Jones shared the post on the social media platform and had a three-word reaction to Haliburton’s progression.

“day by day,” Jones posted.

Without the 6-foot-5 guard, the Pacers have struggled this season and are 2-14 in the Eastern Conference. Indiana looks like a different team without their best player. Additionally, they lost Myles Turner to the Milwaukee Bucks over the summer.

Aside from Haliburton, the Pacers have also dealt with injuries to other players. Johnny Furphy, Quenton Jackson, Aaron Nesmith, Kam Jones and Obi Toppin are all out.

The good news for the Pacers is that Haliburton is reportedly ahead of schedule in his recovery. NBA reporter Scott Agness gave the encouraging update on Monday via X.

“Haliburton remains ahead of schedule,” Agness posted. “This video encapsulates the Pacers’ season. Star player making progress as another looks on in a boot after surgery. More checkpoints to come.”

Pacers fans are excited to see Halliburton back on the floor.

Recovering from a torn Achilles tendon isn’t easy. Most athletes who suffer from the injury never regain their old selves. All-Star forward Kevin Durant might be the only exception. Durant suffered the setback during the 2019 Finals against the Toronto Raptors, but was able to remain elite after missing an entire season due to recovery and rehab.

On Friday, Tyrese Haliburton was asked about his progress. He provided uplifting news for the Pacers and the fans. According to him, he feels good in his recovery.

“I feel really good, maybe a little bit ahead (of schedule),” he said. “I feel good every day. Every day is a different battle. I have good days and bad days, but I feel good overall. I just stay engaged. It’s nice to some sense of normalcy and be with the guys all the time.”

Aside from Tyrese Haliburton, the NBA world also saw Jayson Tatum and Damian Lillard suffer the same fate during the 2025 playoffs.
