During the Florida Gators’ national championship run this year, ESPN Gainesville reporter Talia Baia became an internet sensation.

Baia first went viral after Florida defeated Maryland in the Sweet 16. That’s because she had a very friendly interview with Florida bench player Bennett Andersen. Some fans accused the senior guard for the Gators of “falling head over heels” for the ESPN reporter.

After Florida defeated Houston in a thrilling national title game, Baia took a selfie with Andersen along with the caption: “Congratulations @BennettAnd11 what a run!” That post didn’t exactly sit well with people. They thought it was inappropriate and downright unprofessional.

Baia didn’t seem too bothered by all the criticism. Instead, she thanked those who showed her love and support throughout the NCAA Tournament.

“Wow,” Baia wrote on Instagram. “What an unbelievable season covering @gatorsmbk. So grateful for all the opportunity and support throughout the journey. Looking forward to the next chapter.”

Well, that next chapter is coming awfully soon for Baia.

Earlier this week, Baia shared a photo of her walking on the filed at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. She was wearing a white dress while holding onto her gown.

“Chat, is this real? 3 more weeks,” Baia wrote for her caption.

This post from Baia went viral in a matter of hours, receiving over 600,000 views and 6,600 likes.

It’s possible ESPN Gainesville keeps Baia around for another year, especially after her productivity during March Madness.

We’re not sure what’s next for Baia, but she seems to have a bright future ahead of her.
