Not even the WNBA offseason can stop Phoenix Mercury guard Sophie Cunningham from breaking the internet.

Cunningham became a fan favorite this WNBA season due to her unapologetic attitude on the court and her fashion off it. Throughout the 2024 season, the former second-round pick from Missouri went viral due to her pregame outfits. There was one in particular that showed off her tan lines. She later revealed that her mother picked out that dress.

“The outfits that have went really viral, my mom has actually picked them out,” Cunningham told the New York Post. “It’s been really fun because now (my family) is on all the outfits. And trust me, my family is like, ‘Oh, gosh, what’s Sophie gonna wear today?’ It’s just like a running joke.”

On Wednesday night, Cunningham temporarily stunned her Instagram followers by sharing a swimsuit photo. It didn’t take long for her fans to bombard her with compliments.

“Sophie this photo just cured me,” one fan said.

“Sophie Cunningham is probably one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen tbh,” another fan wrote.

“This is a very nice picture of you,” a third fan commented.

Of course, there were some comments made that crossed the line, but we’d rather not give those people attention.

Cunningham currently has over 250,000 followers on Instagram. That number is bound to go up in the coming years.

Cunningham finished this season averaging 8.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.

The Mercury have Cunningham under contract through the 2025 season.
