Cam Schlittler tried his best but could not stop his team from being eliminated from the postseason.

In the Wild Card round, Schlittler held the Boston Red Sox scoreless through eight innings with 12 strikeouts. His domination led the Yankees to eliminate their most hated rival.

Shortly after the Yankees’ 4-0 win last Thursday, the Yankees’ rookie starter took to social media and decided he was going to troll the hell out of Lucy Burdge, a DraftKings content creator, after she wrote, “Red Sox in 3.”

“Not this year,” Cam Schlitter replied on X.

Through two games of the American League Division Series, the New York Yankees looked outmatched and outclassed, as the Toronto Blue Jays blew them out in the first two games in Canada.

Facing a real possibility of being swept, the team finally woke up in Game 3 to extend the series.

Things got rather interesting as the Yankees got the chance to send Cam Schlitter to the mound.

Schlittler, who had lit up the Wild Card with eight scoreless frames and 12 strikeouts against the Boston Red Sox in the Wild Card series, pitched 6.1 innings, allowing four runs on eight hits, only two of them earned due to an error.

The New York Yankees’ 2025 season came to an end at Yankee Stadium, losing 5–2 to the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 4 of the American League Division Series.

Lucy Burdge remembered what Cam had said to her on X, and it was finally time for some payback.

The content creator took to X and first posted, “The Yankees are not going to win the World Series.”

Then, she went to a post by Cam, where he wrote, “Great series win, onto the next.”

Lucy replied, “And then what happened?”

It looks like Lucy gets the last laugh…for now. Hopefully, this newly formed rivalry will continue into next season.
