Casting News: 9-1-1: Nashville Adds Two, Morris Chestnut Returns to Reasonable Doubt and More

Two more stars are relocating to Music City.

Singer LeAnn Rimes and actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley (Nashville, According to Jim) have joined the cast of 9-1-1: Nashville, our sister site Variety reports. No details are currently available about their characters.

The ABC spinoff stars Chris O’Donnell (NCIS: Los Angeles) as Captain Don Sharpe, “a rugged fire captain and rodeo rider who runs Nashville’s busiest firehouse with his beloved son,” according to the official character breakdown. “Don’s a devoted husband and family man but he has his secrets.”

 

As previously reported, Grey’s Anatomy vet Jessica Capshaw is believed to be playing the wife of O’Donnell’s character.

In other recent casting news…

* Morris Chestnut will return for Reasonable Doubt Season 3 as a recurring guest star, reprising his role as lawyer Corey Cash. Additionally, the Hulu series has added the following recurring cast members: Kyle Bary (Ginny & Georgia), Rumer Willis (Empire), Brandee Evans (P-Valley), Richard Brooks (9-1-1Good Trouble), April Parker Jones (Bel-Air, If Loving You Is Wrong) and Keith Arthur Bolden (Cobra Kai).

* Brendan Fraser (Doom Patrol), Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Annie Murphy (Schitt’s Creek), Elizabeth Hurley (The Royals) and Josh Gad (Wolf Like Me) will voice Tubi’s adult animated series Breaking Bear, which parodies the tropes of mobster dramas, per Deadline.

* Jodie Sweetin (Full House) will star in the Lifetime movie Dateless to Dangerous: My Son’s Secret Life as a newly separated mother whose son spirals into the toxic world of incels. It premieres Saturday, June 21 at 8/7c.
