Former NFL star wide receiver Antonio Brown has released a statement, days after an arrest warrant was issued for charges of attempted murder.

Last Thursday, news broke that a warrant was out for Antonio Brown’s arrest in Miami, Florida. The charge is from an incident at a celebrity boxing match on May 16, where Brown allegedly grabbed a security guard’s gun and fired two shots at a man with whom he had gotten into a fight.

Shortly after the alleged incident, Brown said on social media that he was jumped by several people who attempted to steal his jewelry. Brown said he was briefly detained by police, but they let him go after hearing his side of the story.

Per Grethel Aguila, Charles Rabin and Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Brown is currently traveling in the Middle East. Miami Police Chief Manny Morales told the Herald that they expect Brown to turn himself in once he returns to Miami.

Meanwhile, Antonio Brown has issued a public statement to the ML Football X/Twitter account. The former Pro Bowl wideout said, “No video ab shooting… all made up.”

 

If convicted, Brown faces up to 15 years in prison and a maximum fine of $10,000.

Antonio Brown Last Played For Tampa Bay Buccaneers In 2021

Brown was on a Hall of Fame trajectory before numerous off-the-field issues and troublesome behavior derailed a once-spectacular football career. Brown last played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2021 season, winning a Super Bowl with the Tom Brady-led group the year before.

But the Buccaneers cut Brown immediately after their Week 17, 2021, game against the New York Jets. Brown and head coach Bruce Arians got into a disagreement over his injury and usage, prompting the mercurial wideout to take off his jersey and run out of the stadium mid-game
