The Texas man arrested for allegedly sending threats and sexually explicit messages to WNBA star Caitlin Clark has finally received his much-deserved punishment.
Back in January, Marion County prosecutors charged 55-year-old Michael Thomas Lewis of Denton, Texas, with felony stalking.
Michael Thomas Lewis had multiple outbursts during his first appearance in court after his arrest, and he did not seem to care how serious his charges were.
Moments after Marion County Superior Court Judge Angela Davis called his case, Lewis shouted out, without prompting, that he was “guilty as charged.”
He certainly meant it.
The Texas man who told police he was in “an imaginary relationship” with WNBA star Caitlin Clark pled guilty and was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison.
The 55-year-old reached a deal with Marion County prosecutors in which he pleaded guilty to one felony count of stalking and one misdemeanor count of harassment. He will get credit for time served.

Lewis was also ordered to avoid Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Hinkle Fieldhouse, Fever events, and Indiana Pacers organization events and not to contact Caitlin Clark.
He also will not be allowed internet access during his sentence.

WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark has struggled to stay on the court for the Indiana Fever in 2025.
Clark has missed 13 regular season games, one preseason game and the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup final with different injuries.
She is currently out with a right groin injury with no clear timetable for her return.
The Fever released an update last Thursday, stating Clark “underwent further medical evaluations, which confirmed that no additional injuries or damage were discovered.”
The team added that Clark will “continue working with the medical team on her recovery and rehabilitation, with the priority on her long-term health and well-being.”
