Tennessee Titans cornerback L’Jarius Sneed is facing some serious legal troubles after the most disappointing season of his professional career.
Per Teresa M. Walker of The Associated Press, L’Jarius Sneed is facing a $1 million lawsuit from a Texas man, Christian Nshimiyimana, who claims that the two-time Super Bowl champion “or his personal assistant shot at him while he was sitting inside a Mercedes-Benz.”
Nshimiyimana claims that he was inside the car at a dealership on Dec. 6 in Carrollton (about 20 miles north of Dallas) when shots were fired in their direction. Fortunately, nobody was hit by the bullets in what is said to be an “unprovoked attack.”
Per Walker, attorney Levi McCathern announced Sneed and an accomplice were arrested by Carrollton police officers for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. McCathern also says that Sneed and a woman in his presence (apparently Sneed’s mother) called Nshimiyimana and told him not to speak to the police about the incident.
More from McCathern:
The proof is there. There is video surveillance from the dealership showing the car and the person who opened fire on Christian. We want to know why this happened. We’re thankful no one was shot, but we continue to search for the reason behind this incident.”
We’ll provide more details on the legal matter when they become available.
The 28-year-old L’Jarius Sneed spent his first four NFL seasons playing with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce on the Kansas City Chiefs, helping them to three AFC Championships and back-to-back Super Bowl titles in the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
The cap-strapped Chiefs traded Sneed to the Tennessee Titans last year. He then signed a lucrative four-year contract extension worth $76.4 million, including $55 million in guarantees.

Sneed’s first year with the Titans was cut short by injuries, as he only suited up for five games. Even then, his production was still lackluster at best on football’s worst team of 2024.
According to Pro Football Reference, Sneed allowed a 91.8 passer rating when targeted. Pro Football Focus also graded him at a woeful 36.3 on the year, ranking 212th among 2022 NFL cornerbacks.
