Alijah Arenas is finally out of major danger.

The son of former NBA point guard Gilbert Arenas and USC’s top recruit, Alijah, has made an incredible step towards recovery after waking up from a coma.

While he has not fully recovered from the trauma of the incident, he communicated via writing on a piece of paper.

He recalled being surrounded by smoke as the last few visuals from inside the car.

“Did anyone get hurt?” Arenas asked after recovering from medically induced coma, as per Shams Charania.

Alijah recently met with an unfortunate car accident with his Tesla Cybertruck. The crash happened early Thursday morning when Alijah lost control of his vehicle.

The EV struck a fire hydrant and a tree, causing it to catch fire while he was still inside. Thankfully, he was the only one hurt in this scary incident.

Brave bystanders rushed to help rescue him from the burning car, and his family has expressed heartfelt gratitude for their courageous actions. They described this life-saving effort as nothing short of miraculous.

Even though Alijah Arenas was intubated and placed in a medically induced coma to help treat severe smoke inhalation, he recently started to communicate by writing down messages.

Authorities have confirmed that drugs and alcohol weren’t factors in the crash, which is a relief for everyone concerned. Alijah is now stable and is receiving wonderful support from his family.

However, his parents, Gilbert Arenas and Laura Govan, have issued a statement after Alijah’s positive recovery.

“The family continues to ask for the public’s prayers and support as their miracle baby fights his way back to full recovery,” the statement read.

Additionally, throughout his high school career, Arenas was recognized as a McDonald’s All-American. He also led his team to a California state championship, making him the top recruit for USC’s 2025 class.

The Indiana Fever made a franchise-altering decision last season when they selected Iowa guard Caitlin Clark with the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft. The budding star turned the team around, helping them to the playoffs for the first time in nearly 10 years.

As a result of their success, several high-end free agents wanted to team up with Clark and her teammates. Now, equipped with a complete starting lineup and a solid amount of depth, the Fever are one of the frontrunners for the WNBA Finals.

But before their season officially begins on May 17, they’ll have a trio of preseason contests to play. While two of them are run-of-the-mill exhibition games, one of them is another testament to just how impactful Clark has been during her one year in the league.
