The actress in question is Christian Serratos.

She shot to fame in the noughties when she played Angela Weber in the Twilight movies, and was known as Bella Swan’s geeky friend.

The actress starred in the famous franchise alongside Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Anna Kendrick.

Christian impressed so much, she won the Young Supporting Actress award in the Best Performance in a Feature Film category at the 30th Young Artist Awards in 2009.

Speaking to Full Circle magazine about getting the call she had an audition for Twilight she said: “Well I was actually living in Minden, Nevada working on my writing and music when I got a call for this movie called Twilight – at the time I had no idea what it was.

“I figured I should do my homework on it, so I read the books on the plane and fell in love.

“I didn’t originally go out for Angela, I went out for Jessica (played by Anna Kendrick) I put my hair up and glasses on and just lucked out because they booked me.

“I got to go up to Portland and meet everyone, and they had such a wonderful, cool cast.

“Everyone was really awesome.”

Before Twilight fame, Christian had a recurring role as Suzie Crabgrass in Nickelodeon’s Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide from 2004 to 2007.

LIFE AFTER TWILIGHT

These days the actress is best known for playing Rosita Espinosa from The Walking Dead.

She made her first appearance on the horror TV series in 2014 and went on to become an important member of the Militia before leaving in 2022.

Speaking about watching back her character’s final scenes, Christian told Entertainment Weekly: “I was so proud.

“It was so good. I was so proud of me. I don’t often watch me and go, ‘God, that woman is great.’

“And I watched me and was like, ‘God, I f***ing nailed it.’”

Continuing she said: “I’d been on the show for so long, and in watching the show, one of the things that I really loved about it was that it made me emotional.

“It tugged at your heartstrings.”

PLAYING AN ICON

Christian is known for her incredible singing voice, something which she showed off in Netflix’s biopic series, Selena.

The series followed the life and tragic death of singing icon Selena Quintanilla.

Talking about playing the lead role of Selena, the actress told Marie Claire: ““I’m not a professional pop star, you know?

“I had to trust myself and do [the dance steps] the way that I felt she was doing them.
