Now, with ABC’s American Idol and NBC’s The Voice both airing at the same time on Monday nights, The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal Idol took a major hit in ratings.

On Sunday, March 30, a whopping 4,661,000 viewers tuned in to watch the final night of auditions for American Idol.

But on Monday, March 31, ratings dropped down to 3,781,000 despite fan-favorite round Hollywood Week, Part 1.

The Voice remained strong this week despite Idol airing on the same night, as 4,567,000 viewers watched.

There was a slight dip from the week prior with 4,929,000 viewers watching the March 24 episode of The Voice.

But the NBC show still beat American Idol that week, as the Sunday, March 23 episode had 4,661,000 viewers.

The March 9 premiere of American Idol had 4,494,000 viewers.

The March 10 episode of The Voice had a stunning 5,470,000 fans tune in.

SHOW STARS

Adam Levine, John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini and Michael Buble are the coaches for this season of The Voice.

Fan-favorite Adam, 46, returned to the show after a six-year hiatus.

The Maroon 5 singer previously coached the first 16 seasons from 2011 to 2019.

Adam won three times during his reign on the singing competition series.

Carrie joined for Season 22 alongside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan on the judges’ panel to replace Katy Perry.

CARRIE’S DEBUT

Carrie, 42, who was the Season 4 winner of American Idol in 2005, has been known for her emotional response to auditions.

Carrie cried when contestant Breanna Nix performed one of her hit songs.

In another scene, a high school English teacher walked in to reveal her student would be performing a song for her son, who was killed several years ago.

The country singer cried and admitted, “I’m not okay.”

The Voice Season 27 Coaches

The Voice has gone through many coaches in its various seasons. Some stay on for a while, while others only stay for one season. Here is who will be coaching Season 27 in 2025.

Adam Levine – Season 1 to 16, 27

John Legend – 16 to 22, 24 to 25, 27

Kelsea Ballerini – 15, Comeback Stage, 20, 27

Michael Buble – 26 and 27

HOLLYWOOD WEEK

Hollywood Week saw many talented performers make it through to the next round, including Baylee Littrell, the son of Backstreet Boys singer Brian Littrell.

The series has come under fire for the casting, as fellow American Idol contestants starring alongside Baylee found the casting to be unfair.

“I do feel like it’s unfair but that’s the way the industry is. The way the world is, really,” a contestant on this season of American Idol previously told The U.S. Sun.

The singing hopeful added, “Everyone gets along great with [Baylee] so it’s nothing against him personally. He’s talented.

“But isn’t the whole point of this show to give people who have no prior connections or chance of making it a shot?”

Carnie Wilson’s daughter Lola, 19, is another nepo baby to star on the series, but she was sent home during Hollywood Week.
