THE VIEW hosts and staffers are in full panic mode and are terrified the show will be the next on the chopping block if they don’t soften their tone towards the Trump administration.
Multiple sources familiar with The View production told The U.S. Sun that a chill has settled over the New York studio in the aftermath of Jimmy Kimmel Live! being pulled from the air earlier this week.

“The View staff are even more nervous than Kimmel staffers right now. The View has the biggest target on its back,” one well-placed insider said.
They added it’s not just the show staff and hosts that are concerned, and said “execs at ABC in New York are absolutely panicked about The View’s future,” too.
They said high-ups at the network acknowledge that if Jimmy is officially cancelled, The View is undoubtedly next.
Another insider put it more bluntly, “The View is having a f**king meltdown.”
That source said hosts have been told to cool it with the politics for now, as was evident in the show completely swerving any mention of Kimmel after he was indefinitely suspended on Wednesday night following comments about Charlie Kirk’s k%ller on Monday.
That insider said Joy Behar and Whoopi wanted to discuss Jimmy on the Thursday show, but were told not to touch it.
That insider added, however, that particularly outspoken Whoopi Goldberg has been cooperative.
“No one wants people to lose their jobs, including Whoopi.”
Whoopi recently told an Entertainment Tonight reporter who suggested she could afford to retire by now: “No, not by now. Not yet. I gotta keep paying those bills, baby.”

The ladies did not address Kimmel’s situation again on Friday, either.
Meanwhile, the daytime talk show’s fears seemed to be bolstered, as Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chairman Brendan Carr suggested the show come under additional scrutiny.
He said during a podcast with conservative pundit Scott Jennings, that aired on Thursday, that the FCC was looking at whether The View is a “bona fide news” program, following Jimmy’s suspension earlier this week.
As The U.S. Sun exclusively reported earlier this week, the decision to pull Jimmy Kimmel Live! off the air came at a lightning-fast pace on Wednesday afternoon.
What Jimmy Kimmel said that got him yanked
This is Jimmy Kimmel’s opening monologue from Monday, September 15, that got the show pulled from air.
Kimmel said, “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang trying to characterize this kid who k%lled Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.
“In between the finger-pointing, the White House flew the flag at half-staff, which got some criticism, but on a human level, you can see how hard the president was taking this,” he continued before the show cut to a clip of Trump.
The president was seen standing on the White House lawn as a reporter asked him how he was “holding up” a day and a half following Kirk’s d3ath.
“I think very good,” said Trump before abruptly pointing to trucks and saying they are starting construction on the new White House ballroom.
The show then cut back to Kimmel, who said, “He’s at the fourth stage of grief: construction,” before the audience burst out in laughter.
“This is not how an adult grieved the murd3r of someone he called a friend. This is how a 4-year-old mourns a goldfish. OK?”
Kimmel said this wasn’t the first time that Trump has dodged questions about Kirk, and the show cut to an interview the president had with Fox & Friends the morning after the conservative activist’s d3ath.
Trump told the hosts that he was chatting with architects about the White House project when he learned about the sh00ting before the show cut back to Kimmel.
“And then we installed the most beautiful chandelier,” mocked Kimmel.
KIMMEL’S SHOW SUSPENDED
Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show was abruptly suspended on Wednesday night following backlash over a recent monologue referencing the d3ath of activist Charlie Kirk.
An insider familiar with the production told The U.S. Sun that the decision unfolded rapidly on Wednesday afternoon in Los Angeles.
“Things transpired very fast. Word filtered down to the individual stations around 3 pm that Jimmy would get pulled, and it sent station heads panicking,” the insider revealed.
“Jimmy and the crew were getting ready to film when, at 3:45 pm, news broke widely, and that’s how the crew found out. They were shocked.”
According to the show’s website, taping usually begins at 4:30 pm. Despite the suspension, the source confirmed that the crew is still being paid.
“The show has not been cancelled, despite the reporting, so everyone’s getting paid for the time being,” they said.
On Wednesday night, Jimmy Kimmel Live! was replaced by Celebrity Family Feud, hosted by Steve Harvey.
By Thursday, crew members were photographed dismantling parts of the set in rainy conditions and packing production equipment into trucks.

TRUMP PRAISES ABC
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump weighed in on the matter, praising ABC’s decision and criticizing Jimmy Kimmel.
During a press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Thursday, Trump stated, “Jimmy Kimmel was fired because he had bad ratings more than anything else.
“And he said a horrible thing about a great gentleman known as Charlie Kirk, and Jimmy Kimmel is not a talented person.”
“You can call that free speech or not. He was fired for lack of talent,” Trump added.
Before the press conference, Trump posted on Truth Social, “Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done.”
He also aimed at Stephen Colbert, another long-time critic, whose late-night show is set to end in May 2026 due to declining ratings.
“Kimmel has zero talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible,” Trump wrote.
Jimmy Kimmel has hosted ABC’s late-night program since 2003.
