NCIS star Pauley Perrette stunned fans this weekend when she tweeted that she would never return to the series since she was so “terrified” of co-star Mark Harmon. She said that she had nightmares about the actor and even alleged that he had attacked her.

In 2018, actress Pauley Perrette left the hit primetime series NCIS after spending 14 years (and 354 episodes!) playing Abby Sciuto. At the time, it was well-known that she and series co-star Mark Harmon had fallen out. For months the two actors had failed to appear onscreen together, and it was reported that Perrette’s issue with Harmon stemmed from a 2016 incident involving a dog bite on set. However over the weekend, Perrette alleged that Harmon had “physically assaulted” her on set and that she was “terrified” of the actor.

Perrette added in a now-deleted tweet: “You think I didn’t expect blow back? You got me wrong. THIS happeneTo my crew member and I fought like hell to keep it from happening again! To protect my crew! And then I was physically assaulted for saying NO!?and I lost my job.”

CBS and Harmon’s reps have yet to comment on Perrette’s comments, but it’s being conjectured that Perrette’s tweets have something to do with her exit from NCIS last spring. Back then, Perette cryptically tweeted that she really understood the “horrifying” experience of being bullied, and she added that she had suffered “Multiple Physical Assaults.”

For background, in May 2018, it was noticed that Perrette and Harmon had ceased to appear on screen together. Their final scenes together were even cobbled together in a way similar to Archie Panjabi’s last moments were edited to make it look like she was appearing with Julianna Margulies on The Good Wife. Apparently in 2016, Harmon’s dog lashed out and bit a crew member on the NCIS set and Perrette spoke out against it for the safety of herself and the crew. Perrette’s most recent tweets hint that there may have been a physical altercation between herself and Harmon some point before she left the series.

In the past, CBS has commented by saying it’s “committed to a safe work environment on all our shows.” Perrette seems to have no issue with the network. In fact, she is returning to CBS this fall with a new comedy, Broke, co-starring Jaime Camil. On twitter, Perrette has referred to this project as “The GOOD STUFF!” and “#HappyPlace.”

Summary of Pauley Perrette and Mark Harmon Controversy on NCIS

In 2018, Pauley Perrette, who played Abby Sciuto for 14 years on the popular TV show NCIS, left the series under controversial circumstances. After her departure, Perrette made public statements on Twitter, alleging that she was “terrified” of her co-star Mark Harmon and that she had nightmares about him. She also claimed that she and a crew member were physically assaulted after she spoke up about safety concerns on set.

The tension reportedly began in 2016 when Mark Harmon’s dog bit a crew member on set. Perrette was vocal about her concerns for the safety of the cast and crew after this incident. Following that, she and Harmon reportedly did not appear together in scenes, and their final shared moments on screen were edited to make it seem as if they were together.

Perrette’s tweets, some of which have since been deleted, suggested that her speaking out led to her being targeted and ultimately losing her job. She also mentioned that she had experienced “multiple physical assaults” and bullying during her time on the show.

CBS, the network behind NCIS, responded by reaffirming its commitment to a safe work environment but did not publicly comment on the specifics of Perrette’s allegations or the situation with Mark Harmon. Despite her issues on NCIS, Perrette later returned to CBS for a new comedy series called Broke, expressing positive feelings about her new project.

As of now, Mark Harmon and CBS representatives have not issued detailed public responses to Perrette’s claims.
