A new report provides stunning details on how Elon Musk received his black eye, which was noticeable to the public last week.
Elon Musk has dominated the global headlines over the last 72 hours due to his ongoing feud with President Donald Trump. Musk left the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) last week after a 130-day term and has engaged in a war of words with Trump through social media.

But according to a shocking new report from The Washington Post, the black eye may have occurred during a physical altercation with the United States Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent.
The Washington Post claimed that Musk and Bessent argued about who they wanted as the acting IRS commissioner. This led to a heated argument outside the Oval Office that turned physical, with former Trump advisor Steve Bannon detailing the ordeal:
“After Bessent and Musk exited the Oval Office and began walking down the hallway, the two men started to exchange insults, Bannon said he was told, adding that Bessent brought up Musk’s claims that he would uncover more than $1 trillion in wasteful and fraudulent government spending, which Musk had not succeeded at doing.
“Scott said, ‘You’re a fraud. You’re a total fraud,’” Bannon said in an interview.
Musk then rammed his shoulder into Bessent’s rib cage “like a rugby player,” Bannon said, and Bessent hit him back. Multiple people stepped in to break up the scrum as the two men reached the national security adviser’s office, and Musk was shuffled out of the West Wing.”
