Clark has broken another individual record since Saturday

Indiana Fever’s season opener against Chicago Sky drew a record 2.7 million viewers on Saturday

Caitlin Clark vs Angel Reese continues to be box office for the WNBA

The two rivals have gone head-to-head in some legendary games since college
It continued the trend of fans tuning in to watch Clark, 23, go head-to-head with her long-time rival Angel Reese.
Clark and the Fever started their campaign with a blowout 93-58 win over the Reese’s team on Saturday in Indianapolis.
It peaked at 3.1 million viewers and averaged 2.7 million viewers, and was the most-watched WNBA regular season game in 25 years.
To compare, the Mets-Yankees on drew 2.5 million viewers – and was the most-watched Sunday Night Baseball game on ESPN since 2018.
And fans were treated to a fierce bust-up between Clark and Reese.
Reese, 23, had to be held back from Clark during the match after being the recipient of a flagrant foul.
Later on, the WNBA launched an investigation into alleged racist comments made towards Reese by fans.
The earlier game on Saturday between the defending champion New York Liberty and Las Vegas Aces averaged 1.3 million viewers, so add another one million-plus game to the WNBA ledger.
The hype surrounding Clark and women’s basketball shows no signs of slowing down.
During Clark’s rookie winning year, every broadcasting partner had their highest-viewed WNBA games, all of which featured Indiana.

‘Next question’ – Stern-faced Angel Reese abruptly shuts down Caitlin Clark question after her bold WNBA statement
Last June, the Fever and Sky drew 2.25 million viewers for a CBS game, which at the time marked the WNBA’s most-watched game in 23 years.
The network will air two primetime Clark vs Reese matchups, the first on June 7 and the second on August 9.
And point guard Clark has broken another individual record since Saturday.
The face of the league surpassed Sabrina Ionescu for the most 25 points and 10 assists career games in WNBA history.
For comparison, Liberty guard Ionescu was drafted four years before Clark.
But her 27 points and 11 assists weren’t enough as Indiana lost to 91-90 to Atlanta Dream on Tuesday.
Reacting to the stat, one fan said: “She’ll be the GOAT by the end of her second season.”
