Happy Cinco de Mayo day, everyone. Or, for a select group, happy Met Gala day.

The Met Gala, held on the first Monday of May every year, is perhaps the most exclusive celebrity gathering in the world. The event, held by Anna Wintour, is set to welcome some of the biggest stars in the world, from fashion to Hollywood to sports.

Angel Reese, the prominent WNBA star, was in attendance at the 2024 Met Gala. She took some heat for her attendance, as it came in preparation for the 2024 WNBA regular season. But Reese made it clear that she can do both.

It sounds like it.

Reese took to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday morning, to post her excitement for tonight’s Met Gala.

“Met Gala Day!” she wrote.

The theme of this year’s event is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

LeBron James is an honorary chair of the event. Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton is one of James’s co-chairs.

Meanwhile, Reese, Olympian Simone Biles and her husband NFL star Jonathan Owens and Olympian Sha’Carri Richardson were all named to the committee, too.

Reese hinted at her designer before the event.

“I’m dressed because the Met Gala is on Monday. This is the designer I’m wearing,” Reese said. “I’m not going to say the name of the designer, but if you know your fashion, if you’re a fashion girlie, just check the details. You know what I’m wearing.”

The 2025 Met Gala is scheduled to take place on Monday evening on the Upper East Side in New York City.
